Hi rcornish,
I apologize for the delay. It seems my original reply to this post was not saved.
I have had several client obligations come up that have delayed my ability to complete version 2.0 and subsequently its release. I assure you that I do intend to complete the enhancements and re-release this plug-in.
To answer your question, upgrading from 1.x to 2.x is not automatic, however, no data is lost during the upgrade procedure. The new release does fix the naming issue, and subsequent updates will automatically be noted to users.
Again, I apologize for the response delay.

Wow, you really reply quickly. Thanks so much. I have a feeling your plugin is going to be awesome–I will check out 1.3.0. Thanks again!!

Hello Leha,
I am definitely working to get it released by the end of the month.
You can try out 1.3.0 in the meantime to see if it fits your needs. The upgrade is simple and you will not lose any data.
I'm always here should you have any questions.

Hi, Coyote:
I'm so excited to try your plugin, but I'm wondering if I should just wait to download it until 2.0 is out. My site is scheduled to go live around the beginning of April. Any chance the new version will be available before then?
Thanks so much!!

The release of the Ad Sponsor plug-in version 2.0 is arriving soon. The Ad Sponsor Next Generation (Yeah, I'm a geek) incorporates some new features and enhancements to existing features. The first thing you will notice is a new name. I made an error when naming the plug-in by using underscores. It turns out that the WordPress Codex didn't like that and renamed the original plug-in replacing the underscores with hyphens. This completely messed up the plug-in dashboard auto-notify feature for subsequent releases. The new release will change all this.
The new plug-in name will also require an upgrade to your existing installation. This upgrade is simple, and will not remove your existing data.
- Deactivate the existing cd_ad_sponsor plug-in.
- Delete the cd_ad_sponsor folder and all sub-folders and content.
- Upload the new cd-ad-sponsor plug-in.
- Activate the new cd-ad-sponsor plug-in.
Note: Do not execute the Uninstall option from the Ad Sponsor administration menu.
